All-inclusive 2026 neck lift prices, and who actually suits one.
Woman before neck lift surgery in Thailand.

Wondering whether it is your neck or your jawline?

A free video consultation with your surgeon gives you a straight answer and a full quote.

Start with a free consultation

A standalone neck lift in Thailand with Beauty Butler costs THB 109,000, about AUD 4,600 or USD 3,300. That one price covers your surgeon, a JCI-accredited hospital, your hotel recovery stay and your aftercare. In the US, the average surgeon's fee alone is USD 7,885, before anaesthesia or the operating room (ASPS, accessed October 2026).

Beauty Butler is a Bangkok-based medical tourism agency that coordinates cosmetic surgery for patients from Australia, New Zealand, the US and the UK. We arrange the surgeon, the hospital, the hotel and the nursing, so you can focus on healing.

Most people start this search after one photo. The jawline looks softer from below, or the skin under the chin has lost its line. This guide gives you the real numbers. It also covers what price pages leave out: who a neck lift actually suits, and who is better served by something else.

Key Takeaways

  • A standalone neck lift with Beauty Butler is THB 109,000, all-inclusive. A platysmaplasty for turkey neck is THB 79,000.
  • Most neck lifts are done together with a facelift. In 2025, US surgeons performed 27,315 neck lifts and 77,933 facelifts (ASPS 2025 report).
  • Your anatomy sets the limit. A low hyoid bone caps what any neck lift can achieve.
  • Adding the neck to a facelift did not raise bleeding risk in a 502-patient study (Aesthetic Surgery Journal Open Forum, 2026).
  • Plan for two weeks in Bangkok, with flexible flights home.

How much does a neck lift cost in Thailand in 2026?

A standalone neck lift with Beauty Butler is THB 109,000, and that figure is all-inclusive. It is not a surgeon's fee waiting for extras. Related neck and jawline procedures cost less, because not everyone needs the full operation. Your surgeon confirms which one fits you at your free video consultation.

  • Neck lift, standalone: THB 109,000 (about USD 3,300 / AUD 4,600 / £2,500 / NZD 5,000 / CAD 4,500)
  • Platysmaplasty (turkey neck muscle repair): THB 79,000 (about USD 2,300 / AUD 3,300)
  • Rear neck lift: THB 79,000 (about USD 2,300 / AUD 3,300)
  • Chin lift: THB 69,000 (about USD 2,000 / AUD 2,900)
  • Chin implant: THB 49,000 (about USD 1,400 / AUD 2,000)
  • Cheek and chin liposuction, added to another procedure: THB 45,000 (about USD 1,300 / AUD 1,900)

A neck lift is most often done together with a facelift. The jawline and the neck are one continuous structure. Our SMAS and deep plane facelift prices already include the neck, so there is no separate neck charge on top. Those combined prices are in our facelift in Thailand cost guide.

Currency figures are approximate, rounded down, and move with the exchange rate. Your quote is confirmed in Thai baht.

You can read how the operation works on our page for neck lift surgery in Thailand.

How does Thailand compare with prices at home?

The gap is real, but only if you compare like with like. A surgeon's fee and an all-inclusive package are not the same thing. Many cost articles print them side by side anyway. Every figure below is labelled.

  • Thailand, Beauty Butler. THB 109,000. All-inclusive: surgeon, JCI-accredited hospital, anaesthesia, hotel recovery stay, nursing and aftercare.
  • United States. USD 7,885 average, surgeon's fee only. The ASPS says it "does not include anesthesia, operating room facilities or other related expenses" (ASPS).
  • Australia. Sydney clinics commonly quote AUD 12,000 to 17,000, and some of those are surgeon's fee only (Dr Mark Kohout). A Brisbane surgeon publishes AUD 18,000 to 26,000 all-inclusive (Dr Scott Turner FRACS, 2026).
  • New Zealand. NZD 25,000 to 30,000 for a neck lift on its own, all-in (Dr Jonathan Wheeler, 2026).
  • United Kingdom. £12,000 to £25,000, including surgeon, anaesthesia, hospital and aftercare. The consultation, at £300 to £450, is extra (Marc Pacifico MD FRCS, 2025).
  • Canada. CAD 6,000 to 20,000 depending on the city, covering surgeon, anaesthesia, operating room and aftercare (McRae Plastic Surgery, 2026).

Only the US figure comes from a national society. The others are ranges published by named surgeons. We have not printed a "Thailand average", because directory sites quote neck lift prices that differ by a factor of five.

Why is the price lower, and why is that not a compromise?

Most of a neck lift's price at home is the cost of running the operating theatre, not the surgeon. One New Zealand surgeon lists his costs in full: theatre time NZD 11,500, consumables NZD 6,100 and the anaesthetist NZD 8,700 (Dr Jonathan Wheeler, 2026). That is over NZD 26,000 before his own fee.

Those are the lines where Thailand differs. Theatre time, nursing wages and hospital overheads cost less here. Surgical training does not change. We work only in JCI-accredited hospitals in Bangkok, the same accreditation leading hospitals at home hold. You get world-class results at a fraction of the cost, for reasons you can see.

What is included in a Beauty Butler neck lift package?

The number in your quote is the number you pay. A neck lift package covers:

  • Your surgeon's fee, with a personally vetted, board-certified surgeon
  • A JCI-accredited Bangkok hospital, with anaesthesia and operating costs
  • One night in a private hospital room with nursing care
  • Pre-surgery health checks and medical clearance in Bangkok
  • Medication after surgery and your compression garment
  • An English-speaking client manager while you are in Bangkok
  • All transfers and local transport
  • Your hotel recovery stay, with daily breakfast
  • Personal nurse visits at your hotel, daily for about the first week
  • Lymphatic drainage massage at your hotel, by a separate therapist
  • Video follow-ups with your surgeon after you fly home

At Beauty Butler, you meet your surgeon on a free video consultation before you pay any deposit. And there is no separate agency fee added to your price. For a line-by-line look at what a Thai surgery quote should contain, see what's in a Thailand surgery quote.

One honest limit. We have no clinic or GP partner in Australia, New Zealand, the UK, the US or Canada. Once you are home, your aftercare is our team supporting you remotely, plus follow-up calls with your surgeon whenever you need them.

Do you need a neck lift, or a lower facelift?

For many people over 45, the right operation is a lower facelift with the neck included, not a neck lift alone. The numbers show it. US surgeons perform almost three facelifts for every neck lift (ASPS 2025 report).

The reason is anatomy. The muscle of the lower face and the muscle of the neck are one continuous sheet. Tighten the neck while the jowls stay loose, and the result can look disconnected. So surgeons usually treat both together once jowls appear.

A neck lift on its own tends to suit someone whose cheeks and jawline still hold their shape. Often that is a younger patient with fullness under the chin. Treat that as a pattern your surgeon checks, not a rule set by your age.

Many of our neck lift patients choose the combined operation. Sally from Australia, for example, had a deep plane face and neck lift at 58.

The six patterns of an ageing neck

Surgeons have sorted ageing necks into six types since 1980, and your type decides what you are paying for. The University of Iowa publishes the full system (Iowa Head and Neck Protocols).

  • Class I. A youthful neck with a clear angle under the chin. No surgery is needed.
  • Class II. Loose skin, without much fat or muscle change. A standard lift with muscle tightening is usually enough.
  • Class III. Real excess fat under the chin. Liposuction is often the answer, sometimes on its own.
  • Class IV. The platysma muscle has split into visible vertical cords. This needs a muscle repair, not just fat removal.
  • Class V. A small or set-back chin is part of the problem. A chin implant may help more than tightening.
  • Class VI. The hyoid bone, which anchors the floor of the mouth, sits low in the neck.

If your hyoid sits low, no surgeon can give you a sharp angle under the jaw. No operation moves the hyoid. A neck lift can still improve your neck, often a lot. It cannot copy the profile in a saved photo. If anyone promises that, be wary of the promise.

When a standalone neck lift is the wrong trip

Some people are better served by a different plan, and it is kinder to say so before you book flights.

  • If your surgeon finds a low hyoid, understand the limit on your result first. Some people still go ahead. Others decide the trip is not worth it.
  • If you are in your fifties with visible jowls, you are likely a lower facelift candidate. That is a different plan and price, shown on our facelift surgery page.
  • If a set-back chin causes most of the problem, a chin implant at THB 49,000 may change your profile more.
  • If you cannot take two weeks away, read the recovery section first.

Which neck lift technique do you need?

Four operations get called a "neck lift", and the right one depends on whether your problem is fat, skin, muscle or all three. Your surgeon confirms the plan at your video consultation, after seeing your neck.

Liposuction under the chin

This suits a Class III neck: real fat, good skin and no muscle bands. If skin elasticity is poor, removing fat can leave the skin looser. That is why it is often paired with a neck lift after the mid-forties. With us, cheek and chin liposuction added to another procedure is THB 45,000.

Limited-incision neck lift

A smaller operation through shorter cuts around the ear. It suits people with mild to moderate sagging and little excess skin. Recovery is usually gentler.

Neck lift with platysmaplasty, for turkey neck

Platysmaplasty repairs the platysma, the thin muscle across the front of the neck. When it separates with age, you see the vertical cords called turkey neck. Tightening skin alone does not fix those cords. A platysmaplasty with us is THB 79,000. The full neck lift, treating muscle and skin together, is THB 109,000.

"Deep plane" neck lift

The surgery behind this label is real, but the marketing claims around it are not proven. It means working under the platysma on deeper fat, small muscles and sometimes the salivary glands. We found no major society or peer-reviewed study that defines it as its own procedure. We also found no evidence for claims of faster recovery or longer results. Ask your surgeon exactly what they plan to do. Where deeper neck work is part of a facelift, it is included in our facelift price.

Where non-surgical options stop working

Non-surgical treatments can refine the skin, but they do not fix a loose neck. Cleveland Clinic lists the options: laser, Ultherapy, microneedling, Kybella, CoolSculpting and Botox for neck bands. In its words, these "often provide subtle changes" and need repeat sessions (Cleveland Clinic, 2023). It calls surgery "the gold standard". Neck exercises do not help either, because the skin on top does not tighten.

Will a neck lift leave scars?

Yes, but they are placed where they are hard to see. The usual cuts run near the sideburn, around and behind the ear, and sometimes under the chin (Cleveland Clinic). When the work is mostly deep, one small cut in the chin crease may be enough.

We will not give you a fade timeline, because no reliable source publishes one for neck lift scars. Ask your surgeon for healed photos at twelve months, taken from below. They tell you more than any number could.

Recovery: what your two weeks in Bangkok look like

Plan for one night in hospital and about two weeks in Bangkok before you fly home. The operation usually takes 2 to 4 hours. Cleveland Clinic notes that a neck lift is often done as a day case (Cleveland Clinic). With us, you stay one night in hospital so nurses can watch you closely.

The ASPS does not publish fixed dates for stitches, work or exercise. It tells you to ask your surgeon. So treat these as typical patterns, not your schedule:

  • Days 1 to 3. Swelling and bruising peak. Small drains, if used, usually come out.
  • First week. You wear a chin strap most of the time, then at night for a week or two.
  • Around day 8. Stitches typically come out.
  • Around two weeks. Most people can do light desk work.
  • Weeks 3 to 4. Most visible bruising and swelling have settled.
  • Weeks 4 to 6. Full activity is usually cleared.
  • Months 6 to 12. The final shape settles.

Your Bangkok stay is built around this. A registered Thai nurse visits your hotel daily for about the first week, for wound checks and your strap. Lymphatic drainage massage helps with swelling. Read more about nurse care after surgery in Thailand and how long to stay in Thailand.

The aftercare rule that surprises people

Do not put ice on your neck. The ASPS recovery page says it in capitals: "DO NOT APPLY ICE to the neck" (ASPS). Ice cuts blood flow to skin that has just been lifted, which can harm it. The same page says to keep your head raised and avoid twisting or bending your neck.

When is it safe to fly home?

Your surgeon clears you to fly at your check-up, based on how you are healing, not on a fixed date. One UK clinic group advises at least three to four weeks before short flights, and six weeks before long-haul, after face and neck surgery (Centre for Surgery, 2026). Its reasons are swelling, blood clot risk and lifting bags.

Our standard neck lift stay is two weeks, so we will be straight with you: those two views differ. Your surgeon weighs your swelling, your stitches, your clot risk and the length of your flight. Some patients are cleared at two weeks. Some are asked to stay longer, and we rearrange the trip. Book flexible flights. See our full guide on flying after cosmetic surgery.

How long do neck lift results last?

Results last for years, but not forever. A 2026 review of revision neck lifts found partial relapse over about five and a half years. Second neck lifts were usually done 7 to 11 years after the first (PMC systematic review, 2026).

The same review lists what tends to return: neck bands, fullness under the chin, and drooping salivary glands under the jaw. Skin tightening cannot fix that last one, so ask about it before surgery. Many websites claim a neck lift "lasts 10 to 15 years". We could not trace that to any clinical source.

What are the risks of a neck lift?

Serious problems are uncommon, and most are temporary. In the 2026 review, 6 of 188 patients had complications, about 3.2%. Most were short-term weakness of the nerve to the lower lip, plus a few cases of bleeding under the skin. No permanent nerve damage was recorded (PMC systematic review, 2026).

The main risk in face and neck surgery is a hematoma, a pocket of blood under the skin. A 2026 study of 502 facelifts by one surgeon found a surprise. Facelift alone had a 4.2% hematoma rate. Face plus neck had 1.3% (Aesthetic Surgery Journal Open Forum, 2026). The gap was not statistically significant, but adding the neck did not raise the risk.

Blood pressure control mattered most. When systolic pressure was kept below 120, the combined group had no hematomas at all. Men and people with high blood pressure carry a higher risk. Cleveland Clinic also lists bruising, numbness, infection, blood clots, slow healing and temporary hair loss near the cuts.

Choosing safely: the questions to ask

Before you book a neck lift anywhere, ask your surgeon these six questions.

  • Which of the six neck types am I? Fat, skin, muscle, chin or hyoid. A good surgeon can tell you.
  • Neck lift alone, or with a facelift? Ask them to explain their view of your jowls.
  • Is my hyoid low? You need to know before you pay.
  • How do you control blood pressure during and after surgery?
  • Where will my scars be? Get it written into your plan.
  • Can I meet you before paying anything?

At Beauty Butler, neck lifts are usually performed by Dr. Note (Dr. Sumet Bunyajetpong), a Thai board-certified surgeon who leads our facial surgery. He operates in JCI-accredited Bangkok hospitals. You can meet the whole team on our surgeons page, and see real before and after results.

A neck lift is a considered decision, and you deserve the full picture first. The next step costs nothing. Start with a free consultation, and get a straight answer about your neck and your price.

Frequently asked questions

How much is a neck lift in Thailand?

A standalone neck lift with Beauty Butler costs THB 109,000, about AUD 4,600 or USD 3,300. A platysmaplasty for turkey neck is THB 79,000, and a chin implant is THB 49,000. Each price is all-inclusive: surgeon, JCI-accredited hospital, hotel recovery stay, nurse visits and aftercare.

How does the cost compare with Australia, the UK and the US?

In the US, the average surgeon's fee alone is USD 7,885, before anaesthesia and the operating room. Australian surgeons quote about AUD 12,000 to 26,000, depending on what is included, New Zealand NZD 25,000 to 30,000, and the UK £12,000 to £25,000. Beauty Butler's THB 109,000 is all-inclusive.

Can you have a neck lift without a facelift?

Yes, but it suits fewer people than you might think. A neck lift alone works best when your cheeks and jawline still hold their shape. Once jowls appear, surgeons usually combine the neck with a lower facelift, because the face and neck muscles form one sheet.

What is the best age for a neck lift?

There is no single best age. The deciding factors are your skin quality, where the fat sits, and whether you have jowls. Younger patients with fullness under the chin often suit a neck lift alone. From the late forties, a lower facelift with the neck is more common.

Is a neck lift worth it?

For the right neck, yes. Surgery is the only option that tightens a loose neck and repairs neck bands, while non-surgical treatments give subtle changes. Results last for years, with second operations typically 7 to 11 years later. It is worth less if a low hyoid limits your result.

How painful is a neck lift?

Most people describe tightness, swelling and soreness rather than sharp pain, and it is managed with prescribed medication. The neck can feel tight for several months. Contact your surgical team if pain does not respond to your medication.

How long is neck lift recovery?

Swelling peaks in days one to three, and stitches usually come out around day eight. Most people do light desk work at about two weeks. Full activity is usually cleared at four to six weeks. The final shape settles over six to twelve months.

How soon can I fly home after a neck lift?

Your surgeon clears you at your check-up, based on swelling, healing, clot risk and flight length. Our standard stay is two weeks. Some UK guidance advises six weeks before long-haul flights, so book flexible flights and expect an individual decision.

Is it safe to get a neck lift in Thailand?

It can be, when a board-certified surgeon operates in a JCI-accredited hospital with proper checks and aftercare. Beauty Butler works only in JCI-accredited Bangkok hospitals. You meet your surgeon by video before you pay any deposit, and a nurse visits you daily during early recovery.

Does insurance or Medicare cover a neck lift?

No. A neck lift for appearance is cosmetic, so you pay for it yourself in every market we serve. That includes Medicare in Australia and private health insurance. Rare medical exceptions need assessing by your own doctor at home.
